- The Biola Eagles squeak by the University of the Pacific Tigers,
9-8 in hard fought game that came down to the last minute when
Freshman Josh Bouck shot the ball past a stunned defense to put
the Eagles ahead for good. The Eagles remain 2-0 at home this
year and 2-2 overall.
Biola
heated up the action early In the first quarter when Senior John
Tiffin found Senior Co-Captain Dave Crandall who scored the first
of his 5 goals on the day. Pacific returned the score 4 minutes
later to tie. Biola pulled ahead when Junior John LaDue assisted
Crandall late in the first quarter.
The
Eagles scored again when Senior Co-Captain Sean Connally assisted
Senior Ryan Agadoni who scored his first goal of the season but
the lead would be short-lived. Pacific returned the favor by scoring
4 straight goals in the late second and early third quarter to
put themselves up by two.
Things
looked bad for the Eagles who could not seem to get a shot past
Pacific goalie Peter Nguyen who had 29 saves. Half way through
the third, Biola responded with a four goals of their own. Connally
hit Crandall again on a fast-break to cut the lead by one. Then
the Agadoni brothers gave Biola the lead with scores from Freshman
Josh Agadoni and then a goal off the face-off by dodge king Ryan
Agadoni. Ryan finished day with two goals allowing him to finally
outscore his little brother in a game. With Crandall adding another
goal in the fourth it looked like the Eagles where going to walk
away with a two goal lead.
